At a time when the efficacy of traditional diversity training programs is being called into question, we experimented with something different. Make Some Room
is an immersive experience that marries storytelling and technology to transform an ordinary office into a narrative soundscape. Audio stories from real employees and a beacon-triggered, custom mobile app allow participants to encounter jarringly candid, firsthand accounts of bias, as experienced by their peers, in spaces where the stories might have happened. The experience awakens a deep sense of empathy and helps participants channel those feelings into action. The experience was scaled effectively across offices in 5 countries and received outstanding reviews in post-workshop surveys.
