Convocation Hall:

Making Historic Walls Talk

Type: Media Architecture

Client: Emory University

Role: Creative Director

If the walls of the oldest building on campus could talk, what would they say?

This was the premise behind an architecturally-embedded storytelling system we designed for Emory University's Convocation Hall. The thoughtfully integrated digital mosaics (whose form mimics the building’s historic patchworked marble exterior) span across two floors in the lobby and through hallways—turning walls into portals for exploring campus culture and Emory’s impact on the global community. In the former office of the chancellor, the artfully etched panels of an analog mosaic invite visitors to slow down, lean in, and learn about the building’s past lives in the whisper of the original wooden wainscoting. Ultimately, we integrated the modern storytelling canvases in a way that honors the legacy of this special building.

A Peek into the Process:

Products I designed and led during my time at Magic Leap, Splunk, and Sapient.

Strategic experience planning for spaces ranging from flagship stores to ski resorts.

Immersive, interactive venues that I directed from early concept through physical build and launch.

A glimpse into the lab that I helped build at Second Story—a place for experimentation and prototyping.
